Learning objectives

• To learn the concepts of stability and their influence on bone healing, and how to apply implants to achieve appropriate bone stabilisation
• To comprehend the principles of damage control surgery and plan the initial treatment of the severely injured patient
• To treat pelvic, diaphyseal and simple peri-articular fractures using different application techniques
